Frequently Asked Questions

I want to book an appointment

Congratulations on taking the first step to wellness! We look forward to working with you on your journey.

Please use our online booking form to set up an appointment.

We will gather information that will allow us to build a tailor made strategy to best serve you. Please review our consent form and book your appointment to get started.

I'm still unsure...

We understand that selecting a therapist and attending therapy can be stressful, and we want your experience to be as successful as possible. To help you in this process, we offer a complimentary consultation by phone or zoom video conference (up to 20 minutes). This time allows you to meet our therapists, ask questions, and address any concerns you might have, or to help you find another therapist or clinic that might be a better fit.

Please note that no therapy services are provided during this time.

Please contact us to book your complimentary consultation.

What if I am in a Crisis?

If you or someone you love is in crisis please call 911 or present to your nearest emergency room.

Please see our Resources section for additional support.

How do I prepare for my virtual appointment?

We ask that you treat your virtual sessions similar to any other appointment to get the most benefit:

  • Please dress appropriately
  • Ensure you have a quiet and private space for your session
  • Have a drink of water and tissues nearby
  • Some people also find it helpful to have items to take notes (notebook, tablet etc).
  • We ask that you avoid smoking/vaping during our session
  • That you avoid using substances before or during the appointment

Do you work with children?

Yes, we serve children ages 5 years old.

Under this age we find it most beneficial to work directly with parents/caregivers to address challenges and concerns.

Do you work with couples?

At this time we do not offer couples counseling.

We see value in each member of the couple working with an individual therapist during times of conflict/transition and growth to support with collaborative processes.

Where are you located?

Our in-person office is located at 151 Brunswick street, Suite D, Fredericton NB E3B 1G7. We also offer virtual services across New Brunswick, Ontario, and Nova Scotia.

What are your rates?

  • Standard 50-60 minute session - $130
  • Extended 80-90 session - $195
  • Brief 30-minute session (phone or virtual) - $65

How do I pay?

We currently accept payments by cash, PayPal cheque and email transfer.

Are your services covered by insurance?

Our services are often covered by many insurance plans.

We ask that before booking your session you consult with your insurance provider about your coverage; if it will cover the identified therapist, the amount of coverage per year and when they start a new year and what percentage of the payment they will cover.

Do you offer direct billing?

We direct bill for the following;

  • St Thomas Students with Campus Trust
  • Work Safe Clients
  • Victim Service Clients
  • Indigenous Clients registered with NIHB

For all others you will be provided with an invoice for services and a receipt upon payment that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Payment is due at the start of your appointment.

What about my Therapy/Service/Emotional Support Dog?

We welcome and value service animals in our office.

Your therapist will discuss in advance if there are times during treatment that the support your dog provides might negatively interfere with the treatment process and outcomes.

What if I need to Cancel an appointment?

We want to ensure that the time we have available for therapy is being used most effectively for both our clients and our therapists. Thus we ask if you need to cancel or rebook your appointment that you do so at the earliest opportunity and at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations done with less than 24hrs notice will be charged at the full rate. Last minute cancellations make it incredibly difficult to fill open spots, resulting in the possible need to increase rates to everyone.

If you are concerned about attending your appointment (road conditions, illness etc) we are able to change your appointment to a virtual session.

What about my privacy, is my information protected?

Confidentiality and Privacy are vital to a successful therapeutic relationship. All of our staff have signed confidentiality agreements upon start that are updated yearly.

There are very limited specific situations which would require us to disclose information outside of our clinic. These situations revolve around serious harm and safety, the specifics will be reviewed with you at the start of services.
